Letters from my Windmill: The priest of Cucugnan (1967)
22 February 1967
Based on an original screenplay by Marcel Pagnol, a film project that was never completed, although it was started several times.
In prehistoric times, at the spring festival, two young men meet and fall in love with each other, with an exclusive love. They proclaim their right to monogamy, contrary to the law of the tribe and are chased away.
They wander from cave to cave, facing the wild beasts alone. A hermit teaches them the power of plants and the mystery of fertilization. A child is born but drought threatens. The saving rain will return and bring nature back to life, saving this first love.
