The 5th edition of the Voiles de Marcel Pagnol created the event, this year again, on the archipelago and around its islands.

For their 5th edition, the Voiles de Marcel Pagnol once again set course for Frioul this weekend, creating an event on the archipelago as well as around its four islands where some twenty sailboats competed without any stakes, for the pleasure of the regatta. Coordinated by Christian Couton, deputy mayor of the 1-7, delegated to this island district of which he knows the smallest nooks and crannies, the event brought together again this year, alongside the members of the Association of Frioul yachtsmen chaired by Philippe Mille, several personalities from the world of entertainment, sport and culture, who came to share a moment of friendship and conviviality.

Around Nicolas Pagnol, grandson of the writer and filmmaker to whom the event is dedicated, actors Alexandre Thibaud, known for his role of Julien in the series Une famille formidable, and Nicolas Dromard, member of the theater company Dans la cour des Grands, were present, as well as Arles-based humorist Anthony Joubert, and François “Fanfan” David, president of the association “Parlez moi d’un livre”, in connection with the Prado Paradis bookstore. This was an opportunity for Nicolas Pagnol to sign a new series of comic books featuring the great classics of his illustrious grandfather, which he supervised the production.

After a sumptuous buffet break offered by the Léo-Lagrange vacation center, the festival-goers and their sponsors Roussey Yachting and SM Plaisance met at “la bulle” for a festive evening, open to the public. During this evening, two new films were shown, L’hippocampe and Les sous l’eau, directed by Jean Painlevé (1902-1989), creator of the first underwater camera. Before the organizers unveiled the video of a hilarious card game played 5 meters under the surface by Escartefigue, Panisse, César and Monsieur Brun, in scuba gear!
